At Al Vecchio Convento, we organize cooking courses for the guests who are interested in discovering some segrets of the Italian food culture.
It’s possible to do just 1 lesson or 2 or 3, but we also organize whole cooking-weeks, where you’ll be cooking in the morning and in the Afternoon there will be other cultural activities, such as trufflehunting, visits to local wine and olive oil producers, excursion to the Art-city Ravenna.
In our cooking classes, we introduce typical, Italian recipes such as home-made pasta, risotto, truffle, mushrooms, home baked bread and pizza.
Italian school for foreigners
In cooperation with Centro Culturale Academy Olmo, we organize Italian language courses, for all levels, from beginners to advanced.
The lessons take place in our Italian language school, 50 meters from the hotel, in La Canonica, the old Canon’s house, on top of the village just next to the Church and a small public park with the Central village tower.
Our teachers are all high qualified Italians, each with over ten years of experience in teaching Italian to foreigners. We have a wide variety of courses, such as Dolce Vita/Club 50 (including free time activities), classic standard courses, conversation, theme courses and more.
Furthermore we arrange different kinds of activities during the Afternoon, combined with the Italian classes in the Morning.
Besides horse-riding, trekking and cycling in the National Park, we also organize trufflehunts almost the whole year round.
Matteo, who’s chef and truffle hunter, will be your guide together with his dogs in the surrounding forests.
Wine and gastronomy excursions
Emilia Romagna has a big variety of excellent products, famous in the whole world, like the Parmisan, Parma Ham, Modena balsamic vinegar, Fossa pecorino cheese, but it doesn’t stop here.
Massimiliano, chef and sommelier, will guide you through an introduction to all of these products and we will bring you on wine and gastronomy tours, rich on taste and tradition in the area between Romagna and Tuscany, such as:
- wine cellars
- olive oil producers
- artisan dairies
- an introduction in the hotel to the regions best products and a wine tast with the possibility of purchasing at favourable prices
